Montreal's mayor is asking all the federal leaders to tell the public what they plan to do about Canada Post's decision to halt home mail delivery.
Denis Coderre held a news conference today and cautiously avoided pointing thefinger at Prime Minister Stephen Harper, whose government is responsible for the Crown corporation.
But Coderre rejects the argument the government cannot intervene in the operations of Canada Post.
Harper is the only one of the four main federal leaders who hasn't accepted the mayor's invitation to discuss Montreal's concerns and expectations.
Coderre also called Canada Post "arrogant" for installing the cement bases for community mailboxes at the entrance to a nature park without consulting the local borough.
The NDP quickly issued a statement saying it supports Coderre in condemning the behaviour.
