It may be a scenic drive for visitors, but Niagara Falls, NY residents have long wondered why a parkway was built along the Niagara Gorge cutting access to the beautiful landscape.
But that may change today.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo will stop in Niagara Falls today where he is expected to announce plans to reconfigure the northern Robert Moses Parkway that runs from the city all the way into Youngstown.
The move will open up more greenspace along the river and allow visitors to take part in a variety of proposed activities including horseback riding and ziplines.
A 2,200 foot long zipline from the Grand View Marketplace to the historic Ontario Power Company building at the base of the Horseshoe Falls, on the Canadian side of the river, is expected to open this summer.
