With a snow storm on the way, the city of St.Catharines says S'No Parking is in effect.
Officials are urging residents to help clear our streets of snow this winter by not parking on streets during and after snow storms.
The City of St. Catharines has declared S'No Parking is in effect as of 4:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29 because more than 10 cm of snow has been forecasted within the next 24 hours.
In anticipation of the winter storm, the City has deployed trucks to spray main roads, hills and bridges with brine, a salt solution used for de-icing.
The City will continue to monitor the storm as it passes through the area and take the appropriate actions as required.
S'No Parking is a new program urging residents to not park on the road so crews can plow streets quickly and efficiently.
With the program in effect, residents should plan for off-street parking of their own vehicles and/or visiting vehicles for up to 72 hours and possibly longer depending on conditions.
There are no fines, tickets or other penalties associated with it, however residents should know tickets may be issued in some cases under the City's Parking By-law.
