Niagara West Glanbrook MP Dean Allison announcing that the airport in Pelham off of River Road will receive $99,900 in funding for the rehabilitation and renovation of its main hangar roof.

MP Allison was joined by David Devine, Senior Manager at Niagara Central Airport, and Richard Rybiak, Ward Councillor for the Town of Pelham.

The funding was provided through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program, and will enable Niagara Central Airport to continue serving the Niagara region, and run programs for local flying clubs and Air Cadets Canada, support a skydiving centre and commercial hangar space for pilots, as well as, host emergency services training.

The rehabilitation of the airport hangar will also allow for the airport to continue bringing upwards of 10,000 people annually to the Niagara region each year.
