CKTB's Tim Denis has the spotlight on St. Catharines this week as he talks to local candidates in the federal election.
This morning he was joined by Liberal candidate Chris Bittle.
Bittle says seniors and youth issues are intertwined, and are a concern to both groups.
To help young people, Bittle says his party's platform talks about making education more affordable and helping youth employment, but the media doesn't talk it because youth aren't as engaged in politics.
In response to criticism that the Liberal party plans to raise taxes, Bittle says the party only plans to raise taxes on the wealthiest 1%, and they will use that money to pay for middle class tax cuts.
The Liberal party does plan to run a deficit for the next three years, says Bittle, borrowing money while interest rates are low to invest in infrastructure.
Tomorrow, Conservative incumbent Rick Dykstra will be in studio, followed by NDP candidate Susan Erskine-Fournier on Friday morning.
