Niagara Falls NDP candidate Carolynn Ioannoni gathered union reps from Canada Post this morning along with a number of local seniors to criticize the
Conservative governments cuts to Canada Post.
Ioanonni says there are over 60-thousand disabled people living in the Niagara Region that are not going to have access to mail thanks to government cutbacks.
Ioanonni went on to say Canada Post is continuing to make billions of dollars each year, and a reported surplus of just over 24 million for the first part of 2015 means the cuts to door to door service don't make any sense.
Ioanonni was joined by Mike Paelcek, National President of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers and Dave Bleakney, the 2nd Vice President of CUPW this morning as well as a number of local seniors to discuss the NDP plan to restore service.
Also running in Niagara Falls are Conservative Rob Nicholson, Liberal Ron Planche, Steven Soos for the Green party and Paul Martin for the Libertarian party.
