The city of Welland is reminding drivers that free parking has a strict two hour time limit, and fines have increased if you go over.
Free parking has been in operation for well over a year, and now council has approved it permanently.
Ali Khan, Supervisor of Traffic, Parking and By-Laws, wants to inform the public that parking fines have increased from $14.00 to $25.00, and will be enforced after the 2-hour time limit.
“The public should take advantage of the 2-hour free parking, but keep in mind there is a time limit and officers need to enforce the By-Law,” Khan said.
