The pilot of a small plane is dead after it crashed in a soybean field near the Stoney Creek airport early this morning.
Fire and police rushed to the scene of the crash in a field off of 6th Road and Mud Street.
Police say the pilot suffered critical injuries and has died.
No word if there was anyone else inside the plane.
The Transportation Safety Board has taken over the investigation.
