Residents of Fort McMurray are dealing with another natural disaster, less than three months after a wildfire devastated their community.

This time it's rain that's pounding the northern Alberta city, with forecasters expecting as much as 120 millimetres in some areas.

In just two hours on Sunday, 85 millimeters of rain fell in certain regions.

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, which contains Fort Mac, is urging people to restrict travel and move valuables out of basements.

Emergency management director Darby Allen says staff will monitor the situation overnight and into the morning.
