Provincial police say last year saw one of the highest numbers of charges laid against drivers who failed to slow down and move over for roadside emergency vehicles since the move over law was enacted in 2003.
The O-P-P laid more than two thousand charges under the law last year.
Starting today -- and through the Civic Day long weekend -- the O-P-P says it will conduct a slow down, move over enforcement and education campaign.
The O-P-P says five of its officers have died when they or their roadside vehicles were struck by approaching vehicles since 1989.
