Former Niagara Police Chief Wendy Southall has passed away.
Southhall joined Niagara's police service board in 1982.
She worked her way through the ranks from an administrator on the board to CAO and was sworn in as Chief in 2005, a position she held till her retirement in 2012.
Current Police Chief Jeff McGuire tells CKTB Southall was well respected, a great civil servant who put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this region.
Southhall passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday June 1st.
Visitation will be held at George Darte Funeral Chapel, on Carlton Street St. Catharines on SundayJune 5th from 2-5pm and Monday June 6th from 4-8pm.
A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
