An electrical problem in the attic appears to be the cause of a fire at a St. Catharines home yesterday.
The incident happened on Hampstead Place around 7:30 PM when firefighters responded to the blaze, which was contained to the attic.
The Fire Prevention Division estimates around $100,000 worth of damage occurred and the homes roof needs to be completely replaced.
The house also sustained an amount of smoke and water damage.
Deputy Chief Larry Jones says no one was injured during the blaze and working smoke detectors were in place.
