Stats Can has released the latest jobs numbers for the month of April.
The national unemployment rate was stuck in neutral and remained unchanged at 7.1 percent.
The report says the Canadian economy added 35,000 services jobs last month, largely due to a surge of 26,800 positions in wholesale and retail trade.
Locally, good news, our jobless rate fell from 8.3 percent to 7.5.
Provincially, the rate climbed from 6.8 percent in March to 7 percent last month.
Alberta which has been hard hit by low oil prices lost close to 21 thousand more jobs in April more than any province.
