The Ministry of Natural Resources will begin a campaign on the weekend to make sure some wildlife in Niagara remains rabies free.
The ministry will be dropping flavoured bait around Niagara to immunize racoons, skunks and foxes against the viral disease.
There are fears the disease could spread here from Western New York where they have found rabid raccoons.
The ministry asks anyone who may find one of the baits, which are small and khaki green, to please leave them undisturbed.
