The family of an Ontario teacher convicted of child sex abuse in Indonesia says a court ruling today is a good sign for their efforts to win his release.
An Indonesian court has dismissed a multi-million-dollar suit against the Jakarta school where Neil Bantleman was teaching before he was convicted in a trial that critics say was full of irregularities.
Bantleman denies the charges and is appealing his conviction.
Guy Bantleman says today's ruling bodes well for his brother's eventual release because the judge said there was no evidence to suggest sexual abuse ever took place at the school.
