Heavy rain is causing some flooding issues in Niagara.

In St.Catharines, the north bound lane on First St Louth is under water from St. Paul St. W to 4th Avenue.

Hartzel Road is also under water, but traffic is still getting by.

If you are heading out of the region, Royal Windsor drive from the QEW to the Ford Plant in Oakville is closed due to flooding.

City crews in St.Catharines will be checking and clearing watercourse storm grates and will continue to monitor them during and after the storm.

If they can do so safely, residents can help by clearing storm grates, drains and catch basins fronting their property that may blocked.

Call Citizens First at 905.688.5600 to report fallen trees, blocked catch basins, water over the road and sewer back-ups.

Environment Canada says up to 35 mm of rain will fall by tonight.

Tomorrow, rain will turn to snow in the morning.
