It managed to hitchhike clear across this country in less than a month, but a Canadian-made robot didn't get far in the US.
The researchers who created hitchBOT say someone in Philadelphia damaged it beyond repair Saturday.
The child size robot set out to travel across America after successfully traversing Canada in just 26 days last year.
It started in the Boston area about two weeks ago, but failed to make it off the East Coast.
