A 44 year old Niagara Regional police officer who was found guilty of drunk driving has been demoted.
Sgt. Cathy Edgecombe pleading guilty yesterday before a disciplinary tribunal to a Police Service Act charge of discreditable conduct.
The tribunal reduced her rank to first class constable, with a loss of pay of around $13,000 for 14 months.
Edgecombe has already lost her driver's license for one year and was fined $2,500 after she drove drunk in July 2015 and ended up in a collision with a motorcycle.
