If you like cottage country but hate the drive you'll be happy to hear a feasibility study is now underway to determine whether the Muskoka Airport can accommodate a regional airline.
The District of Muskoka and their tourism organization have hired a consultant to do the study with the idea of having an airline in place in time for Canada's 150th birthday in 2017.
District officials say the Muskoka airport has a new runway that can handle jet planes.
However, the airport isn't equipped to handle a large number of passengers and doesn't have the necessary security measures in place.
