A sad ending to an emergency rescue on TTC subway tracks yesterday.
Crews suspended service, south of the Davisville Station, after a German Shepherd cross named Katie became trapped on the tracks.
Katie had wandered away from home and it's not known how she managed to get trapped beneath a power rail.
It took two hours to free her, and she was taken away on a stretcher.
Katie's owner was searching for her for most of the day, and headed to Davisville station after first hearing hearing about the incident.
Mary Lou Leiher from Toronto Animal Services says Katie's owner called to report her dog missing yesterday morning.
She said they were able to re-connect Katie with her owner quickly because of this call.
But officials say she was so severely injured a vet had to put her down.
