Niagara police are investigating convenience store robbery in St. Catharines.
It happened yesterday just before 6:00 p.m. at the Avondale Food Store on Welland Avenue.
Police say a male pulled his shirt up over his face as he approached the clerk.
Hedemanded money while brandishing a knife.
After getting an undisclosed amount of cash he took off on foot toward Geneva St.
The clerk wasn't injured.
The suspect male is male, white, mid to late twenties, approximately 5'9 with an average to slender build. He was wearing a blue baseball cap with a 'Blue Jays' logo on the front, a grey t-shirt and dark coloured jeans.
This incident is being investigated by members of the 1 District Detective Office and Forensic Services Unit. Any witnesses or anyone with information relating to this incident is encouraged to contact the 1 District Detective Office.
